A leading company in the physician services sector is seeking a Business Development - Analyst (“Analyst”) to serve in a corporate development capacity as part of a core team driving non-organic growth and other strategic initiatives. The Analyst will work with the Chief Development Officer and other executives across the company to source, execute and integrate mergers, acquisitions, and other partnership and joint venture opportunities. The Analyst position is for an analytical, strategic thinker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with a strong potential to excel with respect to thought leadership, project management, due diligence, financial analysis, complex financial modeling, legal documentation and evaluating transactions and markets. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer and other members of the Business Development Team; the Analyst is responsible for supporting the following key objectives of the Business Development Team: Developing the company’s acquisition related growth strategyEvaluating geographical markets and the relative position and competitive dynamics of practices, health systems, and payers within those marketsSourcing new potential transactions, including managing pipeline of opportunities and developing relationships with potential transaction partnersExecuting and closing transactions, including development of structured processes and detailed timelines that can be reported to various internal and constituencies Overseeing due diligence process, including managing internal and external resources and identification of key business and legal issues Developing and reviewing detailed financial analysis and complex valuation models with respect to both financial statements as well as operating metrics generated from practice billing data Providing analytical review and commentary on of complex legal documents Developing and drafting summary materials for presentation to various constituencies, include the board of directors, the executive leadership team, and potential transaction partners Coordinating with internal finance and operations teams as part of transaction execution and post transaction integration process Education & Qualifications · 1 - 3 years relevant professional experience · Bachelor’s degree required / MBA or equivalent is preferred · Experience in the healthcare sector is preferred, particularly with respect to physician services organizations · The ideal candidate will have experience in a business development or M&A role or comparable work experience in investment banking, strategic consulting, corporate development, or private equity · Experience with respect to M&A transactions, financial/quantitative analysis and complex financial modeling, due diligence, legal documentation, strategic thinking, problem solving, and relationship building · Experience interacting with outside advisers, including investment bankers, accountants, lawyers, tax advisers Personal Characteristics Highest level of professionalism, ethics, integrity, mutual respect, and collaborative approachStrong analytical, quantitative and problem solving skill Bright and articulate with excellent communication and presentation skills and able to adapt to various internal and external constituenciesViewed as a team player who also possesses the independence of thought and opinion to provide candor and honesty when making key business decisionsPassionate about business results, with a strong sense of accountability, metrics and ownershipStrong organization, project management and prioritization skillsSound business judgment with an ability to synthesize, analyze and extract implicationsDesire and experience working in a dynamic, fast paced environment Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and perform tasks Willingness to engage in activities outside the role’s formal requirements
