Primary Function:This position is responsible for leading and managing the programs under the Department of Education (“DOE”) and Department of Juvenile Justice (“DJJ”) grants. Plan and conduct a well-rounded program in youth development by implementing programs in the areas of Character & Leadership Development, Education (Homework Help) & Career Development, Health & Life Skills.SMART (Skills Mastery and Resistance Training) Key Roles (Essential Responsibilities):Plan and conduct programs with written weekly plansMentoring the Club membersReport statistical information for DOE and/or DJJ grantsAssist Club members with the use of all equipment and software including an orientation program.Promote and stimulate interest in the assigned programsRequisition needed suppliesControl use of materials and suppliesEnsure Club members complete programs including but not limited to pre- and post-testMaintain Club member’s attendance during the programs.Plan and follow through on recognition program for youth completing specific programsEstablish and enforce appropriate disciplinary rules in the ClubRecruit Club member for programs as appropriateImplement all club policies, especially the Acceptable Use policy (computer policy)Keep the Club clean and the equipment in good working orderPromptly report all equipment repair needsAssist other staff members in integrating programs into other areasCommunicate with management and Club staff, about Club programs and needsParticipate in staff meetingsPerform other duties that may be assigned to meet the needs of the Boys & Girls Club Relationships:Internal: Maintain contact with Club program staff and DirectorExternal: Maintain contact with members and parents as needed; provide advice and/or discipline Skills & Knowledge Required:AA Degree or equivalent education and experienceAbility to use technology as a means of instruction and to communicate the programs to Club membersStrong computer skillsExperience working with youthExperience in teaching or education field preferredCPR certified Physical Requirements/Work Environment:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
