SALARY: $67,390.00 - $107,554.00 AnnuallyOPENING DATE: 08/26/16CLOSING DATE: 09/09/16 05:00 PMREQUIREMENTS AND PREFERENCES:The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for the position of: LICENSED ENGINEER (Energy Engineer, Senior)The Broward County Public Works Department, Facilities Management Division, provides program and administrative management of the maintenance and repairs, roads and grounds, utilities, minor renovations and capital maintenance, cleaning, paid parking, security and real property management of all County facilities and properties.The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge in the design of HVAC, lighting, and electrical systems, and the interrelationships between such systems. The incumbent will evaluate energy consumption data for buildings, mechanical systems, electrical systems and process-based systems, and prepare detailed energy audit reports containing the results and recommendations to present energy saving options. The Senior Energy Engineer will identify opportunities to improve the operation, maintenance, or energy efficiency of buildings or process-based systems, and will educate and make energy saving recommendations to customers.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or field of specialization appropriate to area of assignment.Requires four (4) years progressively responsible experience in professional engineering work appropriate to the area of assignment including six (6) months of lead work or supervisory experience.Special Certifications and Licenses: Possess and maintain Professional Engineer License in State of Florida for duration of assignment.Preferences:Preferences include LEED AP EBOM (LEED Accredited Professional Existing Buildings Operations & Maintenance) and Certified Energy Manager; experience in mechanical engineering design work and as a building commissioning agent.
