We are seeking a hands on, full charge Controller, who can wear several hats; Finance, Human Resources and Insurance / Risk Management. We are a small closely held group of companies in the music / entertainment industry, that produce and promote the Ultra Music Festival brand. You will be responsible for the daily accounting activity and assist the CFO and owners' in executing the company's strategy policies and direction.Responsibilities:Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and proceduresEnsure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirementsManage the preparation of the company's budgetReport to management and department managers on variances from the established budget, and the reasons for those variancesCreate additional analyses and reports as requested by managementMaintain an orderly accounting filing systemMaintain a system of controls over accounting transactionsEnsure accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll are completed timelyDevelops and maintains a human resources system that meets company needsConsults legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal and state lawOversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organizationProcure and maintain appropriate insurance policies and products in appropriate limits and in conjunction with company’s identified risk including commercial general liability policies, officers’ and directors’ liability, employer’s liability insurance, worker’s compensation, liquor liabilityResearch and prepare documentation as needed in response to potential claims.RequirementsBachelor's degree in finance or accounting, or equivalent, Masters degree preferred7-10+ years of progressively responsible experienceExcellent communication skillsStrong knowledge of electronic spreadsheetsWorking knowledge of accounting system softwareAbility to keep sensitive information confidentialExcellent reasoning and problem solving skills
